Starting and Stopping the License Manager

If you installed the license manager as a service, the license manager gets started automatically at system boot time.

There are also several other ways to start and stop the license manager, including

• Using the Windows Services control panel. See Using the Windows Services Control Panel for more information.
• Using the lmutil utility. See Using the lmutil Command for more information.
• Using the LMTOOLS Utility. Click the Start Server or Stop Server button on the Start/Stop/Reread panel. See Using the FLEXlm Utilities Graphical User Interface for more information.

Using the Windows Services Control Panel

To start or stop the license manager using the Windows Services control panel:

1. Click the Start menu.
2. Select the Settings option.
3. On the Settings menu, select the Control Panel option.
4. Open the Services control panel. The method to open this control panel varies depending on the operating system you are running on your computer.
   
   

   Operating System	Instructions
   Windows XP	From the Control Panel menu, select Performance and Maintenance and then select Administrative Tools. The Services option is on this menu.
   Windows 2000	From the Control Panel menu, select Administrative Tools and then select Services.

5. In the Services control panel, scroll through the list of services and right-click on the MATLAB License Server entry. Select Start or Stop from the menu.
