Problems During Installation
This section provides answers to some problems commonly encountered during installation.
Note If the MathWorks Installer appears to hang, you may want to turn off any virus checking software you are running on your system and restart the installer. |
The Installer Does Not Start Automatically
The installer should start automatically when you insert the MathWorks CD into your CD-ROM drive or when you double-click on the installer file you downloaded from the MathWorks Web site.
If the installer does not start, open a Windows Explorer window, select your CD-ROM drive, and double-click the setup.exe
program in the top-level folder.
Invalid Personal License Password
During installation, you must enter your PLP. If your PLP is invalid, you cannot continue with the installation. Verify that
License File Could Not Be Updated
You can receive this error message when you are using the installer to update your licenses -- see Updating a License.
There are two reasons why you received this message:
license.dat
) in the $MATLAB\bin\win32
folder is invalid.
demo.lic
and license.dat
).

Failure Overwriting an Existing Toolbox
You can receive this error message when you attempt to perform an installation when an existing MATLAB installation is running. Make sure that you exit from all existing copies of MATLAB before attempting to run the installation procedure.
