Performing Common License Management Tasks

MATLAB concurrent installations include a set of license management tools provided by FLEXlm. Using these tools you can:

• Monitor the status of all network licensing activities
• Start up and shut down all license daemons, both the license manager (lmgrd.exe) and all vendor daemons on the license server node
• Determine the Host ID of a system
• Change the default name of the license manager log file

The following sections describe how you can access these tools by using:

• The MS-DOS command line (lmutil.exe)
• A graphical user interface (GUI) (lmtools.exe)
• A control panel interface (flexlm.cpl)

This section also includes specific information about:

• Starting and stopping the license manager
• Installing the license manager as a service

Note    You must run these tools on the system on which the license manager is running.
