Starting and Stopping the License Manager

On Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems, if you installed the license manager as a service, you can start it by rebooting your system. As a service, it gets started automatically at system boot time.

Using the Services Control Panel

To start or stop the license manager on a Windows NT or Windows 2000 system using the Services control panel:

In the Services control panel, scroll through the list of services and look for the MATLAB License Server entry. The Status field of the license manager entry should be Started and the Startup field should be Automatic. To start or stop the license manager, select it in the list of services and click the appropriate button in the Services control panel.

Using the FLEXlm Control Panel

To start or stop the license manager on any Windows system, using the FLEXlm License Manager control panel (flexlm.cpl), follow this procedure:

  1. Move to the $MATLAB\flexlm directory, where $MATLAB represents your MATLAB installation directory.
  2. Right-click on the flexlm.cpl file and select Open with Control Panel.
  3. In the FLEXlm License Manager control panel, click the Control tab. On this panel, click on the appropriate button to start, stop, or obtain status information about the license manager.
