9.2 Using the CDE Text Editor
9.2.4 Replacing text
Text can be selected and replaced using any of the following four methods.
  • Dragging over the text while pressing the left mouse button. This will highlight all of the text the mouse pointer passes over.
  • Double-clicking with the left mouse button on a word to highlight that word.
  • Triple-clicking with the left mouse button to highlight the paragraph over which the mouse pointer is situated.
  • Quadruple-clicking with the left mouse button to highlight all of the text in the current Text Editor file.

Once text has been highlighted using any of these four methods, it will be replaced by whatever characters are next typed at the keyboard.

Instead of typing characters, you can cut, copy, or clear the highlighted text using the special keyboard keys or the options on the Text Editor Edit menu as shown in Figure .
