B.2 Configuring The Cisco 700 Series
B.2.5 Cisco 700 - configuration example
Example shows a comprehensive configuration of a Cisco 700 series router for dial-on-demand routing to a central site, as displayed in Figure . The capital letters in the example represent the characters that allow a unique abbreviation of the command. For the purpose of this curriculum, you will find a separator line between the different configuration levels. The first part of the configuration encompasses system-level commands. The second part of Example shows the configuration of the Ethernet interface. The third part shows the configuration of the INTERNAL profile used for routing. Finally, the last part of the example is the configuration for the USER profile called central. Remember that user profiles inherit the system-level configuration by default.

Table contains descriptions for the commands used in Example .

Additional Interface Configuration

You can add the interface functions desired or required by the particular ISDN situation, as follows:

  • Filter inbound call setups with caller ID screening.
  • Use callback with or without authorization.
  • Implement MLP for better bandwidth use.
  • Cisco 700 series routers implement MLP by default.

You must manually turn off the multilink capability if your router is connecting to a Cisco IOS software-based router running Release 11.0(3) or earlier
