To display information about
multilayer switching on a MLS-SE, enter the following command in
privileged EXEC mode:
Switch> (enable) show mls
The display resulting from this
command is shown in Figure
and returns the following information.
- Whether multilayer switching is
enabled on the switch
- The aging time, in seconds, for an
MLS cache entry
- The fast aging time, in seconds,
and the packet threshold for a flow
- The flow mask
- Total packets switched
- The number of active MLS entries
in the cache
- Whether NetFlow data export is
enabled and, if so, for which port and host
- The MLS-RP IP address, MAC
address, XTAG, and supported VLANs
To display information about a
specific MLS-RP, enter the show
mls rp command and designate
the IP address of the target MLS-RP.
Note: Do not confuse the show
mls rp command for the MLS-SE
with the show mls rp
command entered on the MLS-RP. The MLS-SE command requires a
specific MLS-RP IP address, and displays information used by the
switch with regard to Layer 3 switching packets destined for this
MLS-RP.
To display the MLS cache entries,
enter the following command in privileged EXEC mode:
Switch> (enable) show mls entry
In the example in Figure ,
the results of the command displays MLS cache entries using a full
flow mask. This command can be further defined to show MLS cache
entries for the following parameters.
- For a specific destination IP
address:
show mls entry destination
ip-address
- For a specific source IP address:
show mls entry source ip-address
- For a specific MLS_RP ID:
show mls entry rp ip-address
show mls entry flow protocol
source-port destination-port
To remove entries from the MLS cache,
enter the clear mls entry command in privileged EXEC mode, as shown
in Figure .
MLS cache entries can be removed using the following criteria:
- All entries from a specific source
IP address:
clear mls entry source ip-address
- All entries to a specific
destination IP address:
clear mls entry destination
ip-address
- For a specific MLS_RP ID:
clear mls entry rp ip-address
- All entries in a specific flow:
clear mls entry flow protocol
src-port dst-port
