Click on the File menu option from
within File Manager to access options. The File Menu options enable
you to perform the tasks indicated on the menu in Figure . These same
tasks can be accomplished using the command line. The following is a
listing of the File menu items with a brief description of each.
New folder - You can create a
new directory or subdirectory but you must have adequate
permission
New file - You may create new
files in any directory where you have permission
Go Home - You can change to
your home directory if your current folder is different from your
home folder
Go up - You can go up one
level of folder in the directory tree or hierarchy
Go To - You can change to a
specified directory
Find - Locate files based on
their name or content
Open Terminal - Opens a
Terminal window with a shell prompt where you can enter UNIX
commands
Open Floppy - You can access
a floppy disk in the drive (DOS or UNIX)
Open CD-ROM - You can access
a CD-ROM in the drive
Close - Close the File
