Configure the central router to only answer calls placed to its
number only.
Scenario:
You have other ISDN devices connected to the same ISDN line that
your central router is connected to (this is possible with an S/T
Interface). To ensure that they don't step on each other, we want to
configure the central router to only answer calls that are placed to
the 5554000 number.
Notes:
Lab Tasks:
Cable the lab as show in the diagram. Use the Adtran Atlas 550
to simulate the ISDN network.
Configure the branch office router and the central site router
for PPP encapsulation and CHAP authentication. Set the ISDN switch
type, assign the ISDN SPIDs to the interface, and create the
dialer-map entries. Configure DDR to dial the connection when any
IP traffic is present. Set the branch router to dial the 5554000
number. Verify that your connections work.
On the central router, configure the BRI interface to only
answer calls that were dialed to the 5554000 number.
What is the command to do this?
Ping the central router. Is your ping successful?
Now change your dialer map command on the branch router to dial
5554001 instead of 5554000.
Ping the central router. Is your ping successful?
On the central router, turn on ISDN debugging to see what is
happening. What command would you use?
Try your ping again while watching the debug output on the
central router.
