The steps used to configure OSPF NSSA
are as follows.
- Step 1 Configure standard OSPF
operation on one or more interfaces that will be attached to
NSSAs.
- Step 2 Configure an area as NSSA.
router(config)#area area-id nssa
Step 3 (Optional) Control the
summarization or filtering during the translation. The example
shows how Router B will summarize routes using the following
command:
router(config)#summary-address
prefix mask [not-advertise] [tag tag]
To verify that NSSA is defined on a
given router, you can use the show ip ospf command. This command
shows you general OSPF-configured parameters including the number of
NSSAs to which the router is attached, and whether the router is
performing LSA translation.

for verifying and monitoring NSSA operation are shown in Figure .
