11.3 Configuring NAT
11.3.8 Clearing NAT translation entries

To clear all translated entries, use the clear ip nat translation * command, as displayed in the Example. The star symbol is a wildcard, meaning all. In the output, the show ip nat translations command shows us the active translations. Then the clear ip nat translation * command is typed to clear any active translations. No entries appear following another show ip nat translations command.

It is possible to clear a simple translation entry containing an inside translation, or both an inside and outside translation, by using the clear ip nat translation inside global-ip local-ip [outside local-ip global-ip] command.

You can clear a simple translation entry that contains an outside translation by using clear ip nat translation outside local-ip global-ip command.

If you wish to clear an extended entry (in its various forms), use the clear ip nat translation protocol inside global-ip global-port local-ip local-port [outside local-ip local-port global-ip global-port]. The following is a sample of how this command would appear:

router#clear ip nat trans udp
inside 192.168.2.2 10.1.1.2 1220 171.69.2.132 53 171.69.2.132 53

If NAT is properly configured but translations are not occurring, clear the NAT translations and check to see if the translations occur.
