4.2 Configuring a Windows 95 Dial-up Connection
4.2.1 Dial-up networking connection

To create a Dial-Up Networking connection using the Make New Connection wizard, complete the following steps:

  1. From the My Computer window, double-click on the Dial-Up Networking folder, as shown in Figure .

  2. From the Dial-Up Networking window, double-click Make New Connection, as shown in Figure .

  3. Supply information that the Make New Connection wizard needs to define a connection, including a name for the computer you are dialing and your PC modem type, as shown in Figure .

  4. Provide the area code, telephone number, and country code of the system that you will call, as shown in Figure .

The new icon for your connection appears in the Dial-Up Networking window. You need to provide this information only once for each connection that you define. After the New Connection icon is created, you may want to make it a shortcut and place it on your desktop.
