Each branch-office router has LED
displays that allow you to verify that the router components are
installed and functioning properly. On the Cisco 1603 or
1604, you can use the LEDs on the front of the router to determine
router performance and operation, as shown in Figure .
For a Cisco 1600, the system power and OK LEDs indicate that the
router is on and has successfully booted.
The LEDs and their descriptions follow:
- SYSTEM PWR -- The green
system power LED indicates that the router is turned on and DC
power is being supplied.
- SYSTEM OK -- The green
system OK LED indicates that the router has successfully booted.
It blinks while in the boot cycle.
- BRI 0 B1 -- The green B1
LED indicates an ISDN connection on B channel 1.
- BRI 0 B2 -- The green B2
LED indicates an ISDN connection on B channel 2.
- WIC CD -- The green WAN
interface card connection LED indicates an active connection on
the WAN interface card serial port.
- WIC ACT -- The green WAN
interface card activity LED indicates an active connection on
the WAN interface card serial port.
- LAN ACT -- The green LAN
activity LED indicates that data is being sent to or received
from the local Ethernet LAN.
- LAN COL -- A flashing
yellow LAN collision LED indicates frame collisions on the local
Ethernet LAN.
The one-port serial WAN interface
card has one LED (CONN), indicating that data is being sent over the
WAN interface card serial port, as shown in Figure .
