Enter the following command to verify
that a line card is capable of being channeled on a set
command-based switch:
Switch> (enable) show port
capabilities [mod_num[/port_num]]
Make sure that the ports you want to
channel are configured correctly. As you can see in Figure ,
the output of this command will tell you what ports can be grouped
together. Create a channel on the desired ports by entering the
following command:
Switch> (enable) set port
channel mod_num/ports on | off | auto
| desirable.
An example of this command is shown
in Figure .
As shown, Ports 2/3 and 2/4 are bundled together.
To enable an EtherChannel bundle on a
Cisco IOS Software-based switch, enter the following command on each
interface that will be grouped together:
Switch(config-if)#port group
group number distribution |destination / source|
An example of this is shown in Figure

As shown, FastEthernet interfaces 0/3 and 0/4 are bundled together.
